Brecon, in Wales in the United Kingdom, has always been a market town for the area. It has more recently become a popular vacation spot, because of the river Usk which runs through it and the 1,242 walking paths of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Golfing visitors may enjoy a round of golf at the Brecon Golf Club, a nine-hole course measuring 2,738 yards. The town is host to the Brecon Castle and Cathedral, which date back to Norman times; pilgrimages were made here throughout the Middle Ages.
