During the last 20 years, golf has become an increasingly popular recreational activity in Las Vegas and nearby communities. There are now more than 30 courses for golfers to enjoy. Many are public courses that cater to visitors, but private courses have also been built, often as part of upscale real estate developments. Renowned architects such as Robert Trent Jones Jr. and Sr., Jay Morrish, Jack Nicklaus, and Arnold Palmer have all contributed their imaginative design skills to Las Vegas country club courses.
Las Vegas Country Club
The Las Vegas Country Club has been an important part of the Vegas golf scene for more than 40 years. In 2009, the course underwent a major renovation, making the finishing holes more visually interesting and adding a state-of-the-art irrigation system. Tees, greens, and bunkers have all been updated to enhance the strategic challenge of the course while honoring its classic look. This private par-72 course has four sets of tees with yardage ranging from 5,524 to 7,203 yards. Members can also enjoy six tennis courts and a swimming pool. Food and beverage facilities include men's and women's lounges and a dining room.

With five options of tees, yardage ranges from 5,000-7,000 yards, allowing both long and short hitters to experience the fun and challenge of this layout. The club also has a 9,500 square foot Sports Clubhouse that features tennis, swimming and spa where members can enjoy massage therapy and steam/sauna rooms. Southern Highlands Golf Club
Co-designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Robert Trent Jones Jr., Southern Highlands has been ranked the 27th Best Residential Course by Golfweek magazine. The stately 42,000-square-foot Tuscan-style clubhouse has been ranked #1 in the United States by the Golf Digest Index. This private club has limited the number of memberships to 360, ensuring that the course will not be overcrowded. The club has a spa where members can experience a variety of soothing therapies, swim in the lap pool, work out in the fitness center or relax in the outdoor Jacuzzi. The course features changes in elevation and the strategic challenge of contending with large bunkers and water features that come into play on a number of holes. After golf, members can enjoy patio dining with a view of the city lights of Vegas in the distance. Southern Highlands has been a host course for the PGA Tour event in Las Vegas.
