Instead of planning a golf trip to more traditional places like Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head or Florida, you may have chosen to play courses in Nassau, Bahamas, like the courses Radisson Cable Beach Resort, One & Only Ocean Club or Blue Shark Golf Club. And rather than stay at your hotel when you are not playing golf, you'd like to plan to do other things while you are in the islands. Who knows? Maybe those activities will be so enjoyable, you'll plan to return to Nassau again soon.
Pirates of Nassau
"Avast! Thar she blows!" So said the pirates that roamed the Bahamas in the early part of the 18th century when the islands were a haven for them. When you enter this museum, you will see a re-creation of a pirate ship and all its crew. The place is packed with interactive exhibits that will transport you back to the time when piracy on the high seas was a way of life. While it is profoundly entertaining for children, if you have an active imagination, you will have a lot of fun. Of course, it has a gift shop where you can buy all manner of things, and a pub where you can "have a pint of grog" after your tour.

Atlantis Casino
You may wager a dollar or two on the golf course, but you can enjoy big-time gambling at Atlantis Casino with its hundreds of slot machines and gaming tables, a special area where you can bet on races and sports, and a nightclub that would give Las Vegas a run for its money. If you stay at the hotel, your gambling may earn you so-called "comps," or concessions, that can serve to reduce the cost of your room or food. This is a first-class place in every respect, including the decadent glass sculptures that abound throughout.

Flying Cloud Catamaran Cruise
After playing a round of golf, an evening cruise on a 57-foot catamaran is just what the doctor ordered, where you can have hors d'oeuvres and liquid refreshment from the cash bar while you look back at the Nassau skyline as the sun bids farewell at the end of the day. Or you can plan on a day off from the course when you'll go by boat to Rose Island where you can snorkel, swim or just relax. Flying Cloud's staff has all the snorkeling equipment you need; and if you are doing it for the first time, they will provide you a short course on the way to the island. Depending on the cruise you choose, the rate per person will be about $75.
