The Provincetown Tourism Office proclaims this Cape Cod, Massachusetts, town "America's oldest art colony," "the birthplace of American playwriting," and the "best gay resort town." At the tip of Cape Cod, PTown, as it is known, is a mecca of beaches, artists, restaurants, theaters, people watching, shops, galleries and festivals, enticing tourists by the droves. While Provincetown doesn't have a golf course, several are located close by, including Highland Links Golf Course (North Truro, about six miles away), Chequessett Yacht & Country Club (Wellfleet, 14 miles) and The Captains Golf Course (Brewster, 31 miles). Accommodations are plentiful in Provincetown, including hotels, private homes and apartments, but a cottage may be the place for you.
