San Francisco, California is a city that grows in spirit during the Christmas season. According to SanFrancisco.com, the city has various Christmas-inspired events, which include the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at Ghirardelli Square, the Great Dickens Christmas Fair and the Holiday Festival of Lights. Coté Sud
Cote Sud considers itself to be San Francisco's only restaurant to serve French bistro-style food. Pierre Palomes, the restaurant's executive chef, has created a menu that specializes in escargot, duck and rabbit dishes. As of 2009, Cote Sud is open on Christmas Day and offers a special Christmas menu. The menu includes four courses which include dishes like lobster bisque, oysters on the half shell and filet mignon. The Christmas menu is $65 per person and does not include gratuity, beverages or tax. The restaurant also offers an expansive wine list with over 180 different wines.

Zingari Ristorante
Located in the heart of San Francisco's Theater district, Zingari Ristorante is known for its fine Italian cuisine. The restaurant is only one block from the popular Union Square. Zingari hosts wine pairing events throughout the year and also creates special menus that are served on the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's holidays. As of 2009, the Christmas menu is a three-course meal for $59 per person and includes entrees like Braised Wild Boar Ossobuco, Pan-Seared Salmon, Ravioli filled with Butternut Squash & Ricotta and a Seared Filet Mignon. This menu is served on both Christmas Eve and Day. Each person gets to choose an appetizer, entrée and dessert. Lunch is served Tuesday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dinner is served Sunday through Thursday from 5 to 10:30 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 5 to 11 p.m.

Campton Place Restaurant, Bistro and Bar
The Campton Place Restaurant serves California cuisine with a Mediterranean flair. In 2009 the Zagat Survey rated the restaurant as "Extraordinary to Perfection." The dinner menu served on nonholiday evenings is a selection of tasting menus that consist of five courses. The restaurant has a special Christmas Day menu that includes four courses. For the main entrée guests can choose between the Slow Roasted Atlantic Cod or the Roasted Niman Ranch Lamb Leg. As of 2009, this Christmas menu is $98 per adult and $55 per child. These prices do not include the gratuity or tax. If you would like your courses to be paired with wine it will cost an additional $48. The restaurant is open on Christmas Day from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
