Certainly the pool is usually a popular attraction for kids on summer vacation. But the Flamingo pool area is especially kid friendly, with a wildlife habitat that includes plenty of live flamingos. In the summer, the pool also has a water slide.
Las Vegas 51s
The minor league Las Vegas 51s play throughout the summer. Minor league baseball, with its low prices and plethora of promotions, is especially fun for kids. The 51s play in Cashman Stadium, near downtown Las Vegas.
Lake Mead Boat Rentals
If your kids want to go water skiing on vacation, then Lake Mead is the answer. About 45 minutes from the Vegas Strip, Lake Mead offers boat and personal watercraft rentals. The kids can swim, water ski and fish.
Ethel M Chocolate Factory and Botanical Cactus Garden
At Ethel M Chocolate Factory and Botanical Cactus Garden, kids can see how chocolate, candy apples and various other sweet treats are made on a free self-guided tour. Afterward, they can also sample some of the treats for free. While tours are available year-round, in the summer the shop packs any purchases made on ice so customers don't have to worry about anything melting in the Vegas heat. The grounds at Ethel M, located 15 minutes from the Strip in Henderson, also include a cactus garden with more than 350 varieties of cacti, succulents and desert plants.
