Chinatown, a large neighborhood in lower Manhattan, has literally hundreds of restaurants that are Chinese-, Japanese-, Malaysian-, Vietnamese- and Thai-inspired. Chinatown is also home to an abundance of Asian art, jewelry and clothing. Visit Chinatown after your round at one of area's golf courses, such as the Liberty National Golf Course or Mosholu Golf Course, and find your own new favorite Asian-themed restaurant.

Congee

Congee specializes in Cantonese-themed dishes. The restaurant's extensive menu includes seafood selections such as sea clams and sweet pea pods, clam sashimi and steamed fish heads with black bean sauce; beef dishes such as filet of beef with Chinese broccoli and beef with bitter melon; pork dishes such as Peking-style pork chops and steamed minced pork and chicken dishes such as sesame chicken and salted chicken in a country-style sauce. Congee also serves signature house casseroles such as braised fish head casserole and goose web and shitake mushroom casserole; vegetarian dishes such as snow peas with garlic in a rice broth and fried bean curds with shitake mushrooms and house special plates such as boiled goose intestines and duck's blood with ginger and scallions.

Doyer's Vietnamese Restaurant

Doyer's Vietnamese Restaurant was Chinatown's first Vietnamese-themed restaurant. Featured dishes include spicy basil chicken, papaya salad, spicy string beans with black bean sauce and grilled chicken with lemongrass served on rice noodles. Their vast menu selections include appetizers such as grilled and diced meat on a stick and steamed rice cakes; soups such as stewed beef noodle soup, fish sour soup and chive tofu and pork soup; rice noodle dishes such as grilled meatball on rice noodles and lemon chicken on thin rice noodles and seafood dishes such as squid with lemongrass and caramel salmon with black pepper. Doyer's Vietnamese Restaurant also serves numerous poultry, beef and vegetarian dishes.

Peking Duck House

The Peking Duck House restaurant serves its house specialty, boiled and roasted duck with house-made pancakes, special sauce, cucumbers and green scallions. Other menu selections include numerous Chinese specialties including stewed pork, Shanghai shrimp and sea cucumber with black beans and house signature dishes such as fried flounder, Grand Marnier prawns and Peking-style rack of lamb. Joe's Shanghai Restaurant's specialty house dishes include twin prawns in chili sauce, crispy whole yellow fish, stewed pork balls, braised duck and shredded turnip shortcake. Other menu selections include pork and crab meat soup dumplings; appetizers such as sweet red bean shortcake and cold noodles with sesame sauce; cold dishes such as smoked fish and vegetarian duck; casseroles such as fish head casserole and dry bean curd tripe and poultry dishes such as deep fried chicken chunks and General Tso's chicken.
