John Jeffries House
The John Jeffries House is a quaint bed-and-breakfast located near the Museum of Science, Massachusetts General Hospital and the Esplanade. Originally the home of Dr. John Jeffries, founder of the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, the home transitioned to lodging in the 1980s. The Jeffries House uses period artwork, colonial-style furniture, original molding and has an outdoor flower garden. Rooms offer kitchenettes, climate control, satellite television and an elegant atmosphere. Rates range from $108 to $159 for two adults during winter months, with rates rising to $115 in April 2010.

Liberty Hotel
The Liberty Hotel stands on the site of the old Charles Street Jail, which was emptied of prisoners in 1990.
