Fox's Lobster House
This perennially favorite restaurant near the famous Nubble Lighthouse is popular for its fresh seafood. Snag a table by the window for sweeping ocean views. Start with a bucket of steamers (Maine clams steamed in clam juice broth), or a home-cooked bowl of thick clam chowder. The lobster bisque and lobster stew are also favorites. Lobster continues its reign on the menu with a selection of entrees, including Fox's signature shore dinner, with lobster, a choice of chowder, steamers, potatoes, salad and rolls. The lazy lobster sauté takes all the work out of eating fresh lobster; it comes pre-shelled and sautéed in butter. There's also a set of lobster tails, lightly battered and fried. There are several other items on the menu, including steak, chicken, sandwiches, burgers and fried seafood baskets

Union Grill
Tucked into a corner of the historic Union Bluff Hotel is this handsome and highly-regarded eatery. The dining room is decorated with dark woods, warm colors, and subtle lighting. In cooler weather, there's usually a log fire burning in the dining room fireplace, adding to the cozy ambiance. New American dishes include small plate offerings, like the lobster corn dog, tuna and sake with cavier, duck wings with garlic oil and Maine sea salt, and Maine mussels. The kobe short rib and mushroom flatbread pizza is a popular choice, but you'll also find a variety of main dish entrees, including lobster tails, seared scallops, organic salmon, stroganoff, filet mignon and a wild boar chop served with butternut squash grits.

If it's a mild night---or sunny afternoon---the upper and lower patios of this casual restaurant in York Beach are great places to be. You'll have a prime spot for people watching, while you feast on fresh seafood, salads and sandwiches. Locals love the signature flash-fried calamari dusted with blue cornmeal and the Maine crab cakes. Lobster, as to be expected, is prominent on the menu. It is available boiled and served in the rough, in the lobster au gratin with potatoes and bacon in a creamy sauce, and as handmade lobster ravioli. A raw bar menu, plus fried fish platters and an assortment of landlubber's fare are also available.
