Eagar, AZ Hotels

Eagar, AZ Hotels
The tiny Northeastern Arizona town of Eagar is located more than 7,000 feet above sea level at the base of the White Mountains. Its setting near such attractions as the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest and Sunrise Ski Resort make Eagar a good base for outdoor activities, and golfers visiting the town can enjoy a round at the River Run course on the Northwest side of town. Local lodging options are mostly of the motel variety and are clustered along highways 260 and 60, which pass through Eagar and the neighboring town of Springerville.

Best Western Sunrise Inn

The Best Western Sunrise Inn is located about a mile northeast of the golf course at River Run and offers 41 air conditioned rooms with microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, DirecTV with HBO and ESPN and high-speed Internet connections. A complimentary continental breakfast features Belgian waffles, fresh fruit and Starbucks coffee, and guests are treated to fresh, homemade cookies in the afternoon. There's an on-site fitness center and steam room, a business center and an on-site Laundromat. Pets are welcome.

Reed's Motor Lodge

Located a half mile north of the Best Western on Highway 60 in Springerville, Reed's Motor Lodge is part of the K5 Adventures and Gallery complex, which also features a tour guide service, hunting outfitter and a shop stocked with regional art, collectibles and books. The motel, built in 1949, exudes a mountain lodge ambiance, thanks to its knotty pine walls, log beams and Western decor. The 49 rooms feature king-size or queen-size beds, cable TV, microwaves, refrigerators, Wi-Fi access and individually controlled air conditioning and heating. Some rooms are decorated with local artwork. Amenities include an outdoor Jacuzzi, game room and a porch made of juniper and pine logs.

White Mountain Escape

For an alternative to the local motels, try this bed and breakfast set on a 300-acre ranch about three miles south of Eagar. There are three guest rooms--Country Charm, Out West and In The Wilderness--and the decor of each reflects the theme suggested by its name. Guests can also enjoy a common room, which boasts mountain views and a fireplace. Arriving visitors are treated to homemade apple pie, and coffee and muffins are left outside guests' doors each morning as an appetizer to a full breakfast.
