Locanda Verde

Locanda Verde has opened up where the former Greenwich Hotel stood. The interior of the restaurant has not changed much, but the menu has been given a drastic makeover. The restaurant reminds one of a rustic osteria gradually converting to an urban hot-spot. Some of the rare delicacies at Locanda Verde include crispy artichokes with mint sauce, lamb amatriciana, spaghetti mingled with lamb sauce, scallops pugliese and freshly made porchetta. All the wines available here are imported from the Italian peninsula.

Scarpetta

Scarpetta means little show, which literally refers to the mopping up of remaining pasta sauce with chunks of bread. Most casual Italian restaurants encourage the mopping up of sauces on the plate, because you would not want to waste even a drop of the lip-smacking sauce. Sophisticated and sleek interiors made with dark wooden floors welcome high-flying socialites and celebrities, who visit the restaurant frequently. Silver crockery is complemented by citrus scallops or golden yellowtail. Even the simplest of spaghetti, tomato and basil dish tastes divine with the choicest cheeses. The caramelized boneless osso buco delights nonvegetarian eaters. Amadei rates as one of the finest makers of cacao, and you can seal the meal with a memorable chocolate cake. Moderately priced wines from Italian terrain include both reds and whites.
