Hotel Phillips
Originally opened in 1931, the Hotel Phillips is a luxurious hotel in the downtown scene. The hotel has been refurbished to maintain its original art deco/European fusion decor inside and out. The lobby is furnished with herringbone-patterned floors, dual grand staircases, walnut trim and original statuary, including a winged 11-foot gold-plated statue modeled after a 1930s gymnast. The Hotel Phillips was placed on the National Registry of Historic Places in 1979.
Rooms at the Hotel Phillips have been updated to accommodate the modern needs of travelers but maintain a touch of its past in the decor. Light fixtures, furnishings and trim have been restored to reflect the history of the hotel, but modern amenities such as LCD televisions and wireless Internet have been added to each room. The hotel also offers a fitness room, 24-hour room service and a full business center.

The Q Hotel and Spa
Formerly known as the Quarterage Hotel until a 2006 renovation, the Q Hotel and Spa makes efforts to become a premier destination for travelers looking for sustainable, hip accommodations. The hotel utilizes a 38-point approach to making the hotel more sustainable: in-room recycling and water conservation, post-consumable paper products like toilet paper and coffee cups, free bikes available for riding around the city and hybrid vehicles used for shuttle transportation.
Room amenities have been updated as well. Each room comes equipped with high-definition flat-screen televisions, wireless Internet access, MP3 players, modern carpeting and furnishings. Bulk Aveda bath products are available in the shower to avoid post-consumer waste found in typical hotel shower packaging, and room linens are laundered using sustainable practices.

The Savoy Hotel
Built in 1888, the Savoy Hotel was known for luxury accommodations and served many famous guests including Harry Truman, Teddy Roosevelt, W.C. Fields, Will Rogers and John D. Rockefeller. In 1903 the on-site restaurant, Savoy Grill, was opened and became a popular destination for musicians and performers that came to the Kansas City area. Benny Goodman and Count Basie composed the famous tune, Stompin' at the Savoy, in honor of Kansas City's landmark hotel and restaurant.
Today the hotel has been renovated to offer many modern amenities, such as wireless Internet access, televisions with premium cable channels and sofa sleepers in the Victorian-inspired rooms and suites. Touches of the past are still present, however, with rooms featuring original furniture, patterned wallpaper and rugs, four-poster beds, claw-footed bathtubs and 12-foot ceilings.
