Skaneateles is a small town on the north shore of Skaneateles Lake in the Finger Lakes Region of central New York, about 20 miles southeast of Syracuse. The Finger Lakes Region is famous for its wineries. Downtown Skaneateles is known for its restored historic buildings, some dating back to 1796. The town is also a great area for golf. Skaneateles has two public courses. The Midlakes Club has an 18-hole, par-70 course, and the Pearl Lakes Golf Course is a nine-hole, par-29 course. There are also at least 11 other public courses within 10 miles of Skaneateles, and there are several hotels to choose from in Skaneateles.
