Downtown Chicago Jazz Clubs

By Jim Hagerty

Downtown Chicago Jazz Clubs
Chicago has a blues tradition, but it also boasts a unique and vibrant jazz scene. A mixture of swing and Dixieland music, Chicago jazz was made popular by pioneers like Jimmy McPartland, Mugsy Spainer and Eddie Condon. Today, jazz is played all over the city and is sometimes associated with ragtime music. If you are in town on a golf vacation and like jazz, a show at a downtown club can be a great way to cap off a day on the course. Most clubs are casual and located near an array of hotels and within driving distance of almost all Chicagoland golf courses.
