Hotels in Fowey, England
If their spectacular location on Daphne du Maurier's rugged Cornish coast is not enough to spoil the golfing guests at Fowey's hotels, their proximity to the five golf courses within 20 minutes almost certainly will. Carlyon Bay on the cliffs above St. Austell's Bay, Lostwithiel on the banks of the River Fowey and Lanhydrock with fairways that roll like the Cornish countryside each present a different set of golfing challenges.

Old Quay House Hotel

A 2008-2009 finalist in the Cornwall Tourism Awards "Small Hotel of the Year" category, the harborside Old Quay House Hotel is less than 20 minutes from the Carlyon Bay, Lanhydrock and Lostwithiel Golf Clubs. Most of mid-19th century hotel's 11 bedrooms have private balconies and views overlooking the harbor. All of them have Egyptian cotton bed linens, goose down duvets, power showers and White Company bath products.

The on-site Q restaurant, with views of the River Fowey estuary, serves French-inspired dinners with local ingredients like freshwater oysters and Cornish scallops or salads of roasted beetroot with goat cheese.
