Italian Restaurants in St. Louis, Missouri
St. Louis is home to a large population descended from Italian immigrants. As a result, Italian neighborhoods such as The Hill neighborhood developed, resulting in a variety of locally owned Italian groceries, food manufacturers and restaurants. Many of the world-famous Italian restaurants in the area have been in business for decades. Before or after a round of golf on one of the city's dozens of public or private courses, a meal at one of the area's many Italian restaurants helps make for a perfect day.

Charlie Gitto's Italian Restaurant

Charlie Gitto's Italian Restaurant is located on The Hill, the famous Italian neighborhood in St. Louis known for its local bakeries, specialty groceries and wide array of restaurants. Charlie Gitto's is a fine-dining experience, best known for its house-made salad dressing, shrimp appetizer, penne borghese (pasta prepared in pink cognac sauce) and filet of beef tenderloin siciliano. Fresh neopolitan pizzas are available, as is a large wine list filled with International varieties.

Rigazzi's Restaurant

Rigazzi's Restaurant is a family-owned restaurant locally known for its "frozen fish bowls" of draft beer. It also serves generous portions of pizza, sandwiches and pastas and is the oldest restaurant in The Hill neighborhood, having been in business for more than 50 years. It has also been cited in Bon Appetit magazine as having one of the top 10 pizzas in the United States and boasts more than 200 menu items.

Cunetto's House of Pasta

Cunetto's House of Pasta is an upscale casual restaurant that is reasonably priced yet known for its delicious entrees. It is frequented by local and visiting celebrities because of its delicious, traditional Italian dishes as well as specialties such as fettuccine alla cunetto and petto di pollo cardinale. A cholesterol-free menu is also available, as is a full bar and large wine list.

Tony's Restaurant

Tony's Restaurant has been a St. Louis institution for several years. It is known for its impeccable service and formal fine-dining atmosphere. The menu includes both contemporary and traditional Italian dishes such as osso buco, veal cutlet and grilled shrimp scampi. LoRusso's Cucina

LoRusso's Cucina has been in business for more than 23 years and was founded by descendants of Sicilian immigrants. The restaurant is open for both lunch and dinner and serves both traditional Italian dishes as well as new cuisine such as flash-fried spinach, butternut squash ravioli and farm-raised horseradish salmon.
