Menger Hotel
Just blocks from the Municipal Auditorium, the Alamo and River Walk, Menger Hotel resides in an 1859 National Historic Landmark structure. The Menger has hosted some of the most discerning customers, including Teddy Roosevelt--who, it is rumored, recruited many of his Rough Riders at this very site. Its Victorian ambiance, Corinthian columns, glass skylight and original furnishing are the welcoming features of the Menger's three-story lobby. Guests have the choice of staying in a restored Victorian room or one with modern amenities.

Emily Morgan Hotel
Opened in 1926, the Emily Morgan is named for the gal in the song "The Yellow Rose of Texas." The building is the first documented skyscraper west of the Mississippi. A $5 million renovation to this Gothic Revival building in 2001 is partially responsible for earning it a place on Conde Nast Traveler magazine's Gold List in 2009. Recognized as the grand dame of San Antonio hotels, the Emily Morgan overlooks the Alamo and surrounding historic grounds. Visitors rest comfortably on feather-top beds and stay in rooms with a private Jacuzzi. There's a library and an outdoor pool. The casual restaurant and bar, Oro, serves authentic Texas cuisine. For those who like to travel with a pet, the Emily Morgan has a special menu that caters to four-legged friends.
