Souper Jenny
Souper Jenny is in Atlanta's upscale Buckhead district. The restaurant is located within 5 miles of Ansley Golf Club. Souper Jenny serves homemade soups and sandwiches for lunch every day of the week except Sundays. As of 2009, Souper Jenny is also open for dinner on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The menu changes daily, but usually includes six soup options, two types of sandwiches and a few salads. Sample menu items include turkey chili, wild mushroom bisque, shrimp and crab chowder, field greens with veggies and avocado, homemade pita with ham and Havarti cheese and homemade baked desserts. The cafe is cafeteria style and customers can pick out what they want from the daily menu, pay at the register and sit down in the country-style restaurant. The atmosphere is casual, and the restaurant has a dedicated following, often with a line winding outside at lunch time. Souper Jenny accepts cash and checks only and has an ATM in the restaurant. As of 2009, the popular $12 lunch deal includes a choice of two menu items, a roll, a piece of fresh fruit and a drink.
