Fine Restaurants in Portland

Fine Restaurants in Portland
Though Portland, Oregon has its share of dives and breweries, the city is also home to numerous fine restaurants. After a long day on one of Portland's many golf courses, treat yourself to gourmet cuisine. Salishan Lodge & Golf Resort, Broadmoor Golf Course and Rose City Golf Course are a few of the golf courses located within a couple of miles of these restaurants.

Andina

Downtown's Andina offers Peruvian fare in a spacious facility furnished with polished wood and paper lanterns. Dinner plates consist of such favorites as the adobo de cerdo, a braised pork tenderloin with butternut squash, gorgonzola ravioli, green apple and a tamarillo-rocoto uchucuta. Desserts are seasonal: One such offering is the canutos de quinoa y maracuya, a dish of cannolis made with quinoa, filled with passion fruit mousse and served with mango-lemongrass sorbet and caramel. Cocktails are equally tempting. The sweet atardecer porteno is a mixture of pink guava nectar, honey infused vodka and lime juice that is topped with ruby port and lime zest and served with an anise-sugared rim. Andina is open for lunch and dinner. Dress is casually. Andina is about half a mile away from Salishan Lodge & Golf Resort.

Beast

Northeast Portland's Beast is barely noticeable from the outside, however the inside of this small French restaurant is a culinary wonderland. Beast is open for two dinner seatings Wednesday through Saturday, and the menu changes every week to include new seasonal ingredients. Beast also offers brunch on Sundays. Dinner is a six-course meal and the dishes are meat heavy--hence the name "Beast"--so vegetarians will struggle here (substitutions are not possible). Dinners are available with an optional six glass wine sampler. Dress is casual, but reservations are highly recommended. Beast is a little less than a mile away from Broadmoor Golf Course‎.

Bamboo Sushi

Southeast Portland's Bamboo Sushi offers a range of dinner options. Have a light dinner of traditional sushi rolls, or indulge in a specialty plate such as the albacore carpaccio, a dish of thinly sliced albacore served with chopped, house smoked cipollini onion, pickled shiitake mushrooms, momiji, ponzu, chervil, and a sprinkling of Japanese sea salt.

Bamboo Sushi has an extensive list of sakes, all made by artisan Japanese brewers. You also can order a specialty cocktail: the distinctly Asian lychee martini features red grapes muddled and shaken with vodka, lemon, lime and lychee puree. Dress is casual.
Bamboo sushi is about 2½ miles from Rose City Golf Course‎.
