The Golf Course
The golf course at the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort is a full 18-hole course designed by Rees Jones, who has designed over 100 different golf courses, including five PGA courses and seven U.S. Open courses. The course spans over 7,500 yards and includes all the sand traps and water hazards you would expect from a top notch golf course. It also sports its own clubhouse, a pro shop and teaching facilities for beginners or novices who want to improve their game before tackling a challenging course.
Scenic Riverside
The casino and the golf course might be the main attractions for visitors, but the small town of Riverside, Iowa has plenty to offer. The local Catholic church is a registered historical building, and there is a history museum in Riverside that even includes a room on "Star Trek," a nod to its ties with the future Captain Kirk. There are three city parks, and the local VFW has an incredible mural depicting the armed conflicts of the 20th century.
Riverside is also an excellent central location, as it is only 12 miles from Iowa City (home of the University of Iowa) and approximately 30 miles from Cedar Rapids, the largest city in Eastern Iowa. Everything in Riverside is within walking distance, making it easy to get through the town.
