db Bistron Moderne
Respected Chef Daniel Boulud designed this modern take on the Parisian bistro. The restaurant has a bright front dining room, a cozy back dining room and a wine bar with custom-designed chandeliers. Well reviewed by Zagat, the place has $45 prix-fixe menu that theater-goers will appreciate. The location in the heart of the theater district cannot be beaten, either. The French food is made from seasonal American ingredients. The duck pate and tuna tartare are standouts.

Becco
Becco provides excellent Italian cuisine in a prime theater district location. Lidia Bastianich (of the cooking show "Lidia's Italy") founded this restaurant to honor well-prepared and affordable food. The prix fixe lunch is less than $20 and the prix fixe dinner is less than $25; both include an endless supply of anitpasti or Caesar salad and of the chef's trio of pastas. You can also order items like minestrone and ossobuco a la carte. The decor is warm and welcoming and the staff is friendly.

Joe Allen's
A Broadway institution, Joe Allen's has theater memorabilia all over its walls. It's in an ideal location and serves great American food. The lobster rolls, burgers and mashed potatoes are famous, but the Greek salad and Portuguese blood sausage are both worth a try. The hot fudge pudding cake is the perfect dessert. The servers are used to a theater crowd, so they will make sure you're on time for your show without making you feel rushed.
