Cleveland is a meat and potatoes kind of town. Its steak houses range from venerable, wood-paneled downtown eateries to sparkling, new suburban restaurants. All, however, are worth a try when you desire a juicy steak.
Greater Cleveland is home to several excellent golf courses. Among these are three named on GolfLink.com's top 20 courses in Ohio. These are the Canterbury Golf Club in Shaker Heights, Shaker Heights Country Club and Manakiki Golf Course in Willoughby east of Cleveland.
John Q's Steakhouse
This traditional Midwestern steakhouse is located right at Public Square in downtown Cleveland. It has been in business since 1979. The wood-paneled, cozy restaurant is known for its pepper steak and generous side dishes. It's also the place to meet before a Cleveland Browns game. John Q's serves lunch Monday through Friday and dinner nightly.

Ferris Steak House
Located on Cleveland's near west side, this no-frills steakhouse has been a city favorite since 1940. The family-owned restaurant is known for its Delmonico steaks and shrimp scampi. Ferris Steak House is open for dinner daily and offers live piano music on Fridays and Saturdays.

Hyde Park Grille
This popular northeast Ohio eatery has three Cleveland area locations. It's popular for its steak specialties, including steak with asparagus and crab meat. Hyde Park also offers a wide selection of wines by the glass. The downtown location is open for lunch Monday through Friday, and it serves dinner Monday through Saturday.

Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar
Located on Cleveland's east side, Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar is just off of I-271 and near Beechmont Country Club. It offers USDA prime steaks and seafood in a comfortable setting. One hundred wines are offered by the glass to accompany the food; wine is served in all price ranges and from all parts of the world. In the summer, there is a small patio in front of the restaurant. Menu highlights include the rib eye steak and the barbecued Scottish salmon filet. Fleming's is open for dinner only.
