Zen Palate
Zen Palate is an Asian fusion and vegetarian cuisine restaurant located just half a block from Union Square. The menu at Zen Palate is based on ancient recipes, dating back thousands of years, from Buddhist temples. One example is the homemade soy crepes with wolfberry seeds and garden vegetables in a sweet rice ginger sauce. Zen Palate is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week and has several other locations in New York and New Jersey.

15 East is an upscale, contemporary Japanese cuisine and sushi restaurant one block west of Union Square. The menu at 15 East features creative fusion dishes, like the squid ink risotto with sea urchin, as well as classics made from ingredients from the Greenmarket, such as a salad of market greens with shimeji mushrooms. 15 East has an extensive sake selection as well as a cosmopolitan wine list. The restaurant is open for lunch Monday through Friday and dinner Monday through Saturday.
