Laughlin, Nevada, is located on the Colorado River just across the border from Arizona and near the border of California. Situated about 100 miles south of Las Vegas, Laughlin is home to many casinos but also has a more family friendly environment, with natural and man-made attractions including the surrounding mountains and several dams that supply power from the Colorado River. Laughlin is home to the Mojave Resort Golf Club, an 18-hole, par-72 open to the public, but there are five other area courses, most located across the Arizona border.

Other attractions include the full service River Palms Spa and Salon, along with an on-site comedy club and pool. Don Laughlin's is the first resort and casino to be built in Laughlin and bears the founder's name. Located on the Colorado River, the resort features an 80,000-square-foot casino that is open 24 hours a day and offers slots, table games, a poker room and a sports book. The resort also includes a bowling alley, auto museum, arcade, kids' kastle, movie theater, two swimming pools and a hot tub. Rooms are equipped with televisions and in-room movies, and some come with refrigerators.
