One of the things people love about New York City is that there are so many dining options. When you want to treat your family to a great dinner, you don't have to settle for the local fast-food chain. There are many kid-themed restaurants in New York City that offer you and your family good fun and good food at the same time.

Barking Dog NYC

This restaurant features a canine theme that is sure to be a hit with the kids. The canine decor includes dog water fountains, but you will get to enjoy traditional American comfort food that will appeal to all ages, including salads, sandwiches, meat loaf and pot roast, along with some British fare, such as fish and chips. If you like breakfast, it is served until 4 p.m in the afternoon.

Beacon Restaurant

You might not think grilling could be thrilling for the kids, until you've been to Beacon. Aspiring chefs will love the rotisserie and grill show, showing all the action from grilled scallions, roasted trout and even grilled apples. If your little one gets bored easily, there are coloring books or they can taste the amuse-bouches of pizza and French fries. To top it off, Beacon has its own "Little People" menu, and kids aged 5 and under eat free. For the grown-ups, there are house-baked breads, a great cocktail list and a raw bar, where you can enjoy oysters, clams and mussels with traditional garnishes.

Japanese cuisine might not be for everyone, but dining at Ninja is sure to be an experience, even for the the children. The menu features such Japanese treats as sushi, sashimi and teriyaki, with several fusion-inspired dishes as well. Kids aged 12 and under can select the Kid's Menu, with the condition that dessert will be served after they finish their vegetables.
