What Golf Clubs Do Tour Professionals Use?
Selecting a golf club can be a strenuous and tedious task if a golfer doesn't exactly know what qualities and specifications to look for. Instead of going through the many options involved with selecting a club, they choose the same or similar clubs to that of the top Tour professionals. It's not a bad idea--they have some of the best clubs available.

Drivers

When selecting a driver to use, the Tour professionals generally tend to go with one that has a 460cc sized club head and a graphite shaft. These two things allow a pro to drive the ball great distances accurately and with as little effort as possible. Manufacturers such as Nike and Callaway produce some of the best drivers available, which Tour professionals use while playing in tournaments. Tiger Woods, Anthony Kim, Phil Mickelson and Stuart Appleby all use drivers that fall under these characteristic categories.

Irons

When it comes to choosing the right irons to play with, tour professionals are very selective. Many of them choose to go with a set of irons that have a low center of gravity, which will allow each shot to have the optimal ball speed and flight. Generally, most Tour professionals also use irons that have forged blades to give them better feel and accuracy, as opposed to the normal blades which most non-pros use. Forged blade irons are used by many of the top pros on tour including Stuart Cink, Tiger Woods and Rocco Mediate.

Putters

Mallet putters are the most popular amongst the pros on tour, and for good reason. The mallet putters allow for a better feel when putting and offer much more forgiveness with each putt. A putter with heel-toe weight distribution is also a plus in Tour professionals' eyes. Tour professionals such as Geoff Ogilvy, Ernie Els and Tom Watson all use mallet putters.
