Breakfast Restaurants in the LoDo District of Denver
Denver's LoDo (lower downtown) district is conveniently close to the Cherry Creek bike trail, the 16th Street Mall, shops on Larimer Street and the Denver Art Museum. If you are en route to golfing near the Rocky Mountain Front Rage in the western suburbs or finishing an early morning on the greens at Cherry Creek Country Club, be sure to load up on Denver's favorite meal of the day: breakfast. The following restaurants are the most popular and serve up some of the best meals in town.

The Snooze

Step into The Snooze, a favorite of Denver locals, to fully understand just how seriously they can take the most important meal of the day before heading out for their sport of choice. Menu options include a hearty three-egg omelet, corned beef hash, chicken-fried steak and eggs, Denver huevos rancheros, pineapple upside-down pancakes and the infamous breakfast burrito. Breakfast might be your only meal of the day.

The Snooze makes a conscious effort to be environmentally friendly, including recycling, composting, serving sustainable locally grown organic food, employee education on sustainability, and developing green power and building design. Denver loves The Snooze so much there are two locations: downtown and in Cherry Creek.

Gallop Cafe

Located in the heart of the charming Highlands neighborhood, the Gallop Cafe attracts families, couples and singles from all over the Denver area. Breakfast items include the original Colorado breakfast burrito smothered with cheese and green chili, cinnamon buns from the oven and hotcakes.

A lighter fare of yogurt, fruit or bagels is also scrumptious. Be sure to go to the Gallop Cafe thirsty, as the Bloody Marys come in generous portions, complete with spices, capers, celery and a side of a PBR chaser. This is the perfect thirst quencher before or after hitting the greens. The restaurant is family run, so be sure to chat up the owner and thank him for creating a breakfast haven.

Lucille's Creole Cafe

Enjoy some Southern hospitality and spicy comfort food at Lucille's Creole Cafe. You don't need reservations, but weekends are a bit busy. Luckily, you can grab a Spicy Cajun Bloody Mary (with Cajun shrimp) and a beach mat and lounge under the sun on the front lawn until your table is ready.

Be sure to try a biscuit or grits with your Jennifer Eggs Benedict (avocado, Hollandaise sauce, English muffin and sauteed spinach). The atmosphere is quaint and intimate, down to the crafty patchwork quilt napkins. Prices are reasonable and portions are hefty.
