Atlanta Attractions for Kids

Atlanta Attractions for Kids
In 1837 the area we now know as Atlanta was chosen for the site to connect the railroad from Georgia to Tennessee. In 1864 General Sherman burned it to the ground; about 70 percent of the buildings were destroyed. In 1996 Atlanta hosted the Centennial Olympic Games. The history of this vibrant city is visible everywhere you look. With the Atlanta City Pass you can visit 6 area attractions for just $69 for each pass. The next time you plan a vacation, go somewhere you can show your children history with a side of entertainment.

The World of Coke

In 1886 Jacob's Pharmacy began selling a new tonic said to cure headaches and hangovers. In 1891 Asa Candler paid $2,300 for the rights to Coca-Cola, and the next year he founded the Coca-Cola Company. Now over 100 years later you can tour the museum of Coke. Served in over 60 countries around the world, only at the World of Coke can you taste each one. The location also has the '4-D' Happiness Factory theater (a 3-D movie with moving seats) and a bottling plant on site that produces a one of a kind bottle of coke for visitors. General Admission is $10 for children 3 to 12 and $15 for adults. A good day of Atlanta entertainment for kids.

Imagine It! The Children's Museum of Atlanta

This downtown attraction has great activities for kids while in Atlanta. The Children's Museum offers crafts, activities, and games that promote learning while having fun. While touring the museum you may run into the Imaginators, a group of actors that perform mini-musicals that involve the audience. The museum offers space even for the littlest adventurer with a toddler padded crawl space, and blocks and tunnels for the early walkers. With numerous ever changing exhibits such as Fundamentally Food, an exhibit that demonstrates how food goes from the farm to the grocery store, the kids won't even know they're learning. General Admission is $12.50 for everyone over the age of 2, and groups of 10 or more can get discounted tickets with advance reservations.
