Until about 25 years ago, Las Vegas was a destination for adults who wanted to gamble and see some spectacular entertainment. But since then, it has become an attraction for families who choose to spend their vacation time there. So, in order to be an attractive destination for kids of all ages, there are a myriad of activities that you will only find in Las Vegas, especially if you have teenagers.
Stratosphere Tower
This activity is fun whether you are a teenager or a parent. This tower is the tallest one in the U. S., going almost 1,200 feet into the city skyline. Because of its height, it allows you to see the entire Las Vegas area. It's in the Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, and it also includes rides that you won't find anywhere else. For instance, ride the so-called "Big Shot" and be catapulted at 4G speed until you're almost 1,100 feet above the city. Or the "X-Scream," which will take you almost 30 feet over the tower's edge while you are more than 800 feet above the ground. Tickets for this venue are available at the hotel and cost $16.95.

Cirque du Soleil
Treat your teenager well by taking him to the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino to see the latest version of Cirque du Soleil, with its acrobats and images that will create memories for a lifetime. It has an international cast of more than 70 talented performers, and the Chicago Tribune recently called it "one of the most innovative and exciting shows to be seen anywhere." It's best to arrive about a half-hour before showtime. Tickets to Cirque du Soleil start at about $60.

Shark Reef
There are aquariums in almost every city, but there's only one Shark Reef, which is located at The Mandalay Bay. Your teenager will enjoy seeing the shipwreck, where exotic fish go their merry ways, or the hands-on exhibits of baby sharks and manta rays that are meticulously supervised. For watchers only, there are a variety of sharks, piranha, jellyfish and a rare golden crocodile that are among more than 2,000 animals and fish that are kept in a tank of about 2 million gallons of saltwater. Admission is about $17 per person.
