Chicago, Illinois, otherwise known as the Windy City, is the birthplace of the Zenith TV remote control and Sears mail order. It is filled with an array of shopping areas like the Magnificent Mile, and family tourist attractions. For families and individuals who have an interest in golfing, there are also plenty of places to bring your clubs. Some of the golf parks in Chicago include Columbus Park, Robert A. Black, and Jackson Park.

Shed Aquarium

Families can have fun together seeing aquatic animals at Shed Aquarium. Visitors can view exhibits such as the Waters of the World, Caribbean Reef, and the Polar Play Zone. Shed also puts on free dolphin shows where you can enjoy seeing underwater creatures play and perform tricks. A new 4-D experience awaits families at the Phelps Auditorium, where a selection of feature films play too. There are also gift shops at Shed Aquarium as well as dining areas in which to stop and feed your hungry family. There are cafes such as the Soundings Café, the Deep Ocean Café, and the Bubble Net.

Navy Pier

Navy Pier is a great family attraction to see when you are visiting in Chicago. It includes rides for children, a children's museum, boat rides and cruises, fireworks, and the Smith Museum of Stained Glass Windows. Navy Pier also offers plenty of shopping areas, restaurants, and entertainment. There are a variety of stages such as the Family Pavilion Stage and the Pepsi Skyline Stage that offers free shows throughout the day. Families who visit Navy Pier on Wednesdays, Saturdays, or special holidays enjoy a special free firework show in the evenings.

Brookfield Zoo

Located just outside of Chicago, visitors to the Brookfield Zoo can get in touch with their wild side and see a variety of unique animal exhibits. Some of its exhibits include beautiful butterflies; the Living Coast, where fish, sharks, and coral live; and the Tropical World that inhabits different monkey species. Children also get a chance at hands-on learning and education about animals at the Hamill Family Play Zoo. To get a ride through the zoo, you can also hop on the Motor Safari to view the animals. Visitors can purchase a memorable item or gift at the Brookfield Zoo gift shop. Admission to the zoo is free on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the months of October through December.
