Asia Market
Located 5 minutes from downtown, Asia Market offers a large menu featuring salads, curries, soups and specials available for dining in or take-out. The traditional Thai tom yum soup has a hot and sour flavor and the yum pla merk salad includes squid and herbs. If you are sensitive to spice, ask them to make your dishes less spicy because the default here is very hot. Asia Market also offers Asian drinks like foco, paldo and Thai tea and coffee. Asia Market is a grocery market with a large dining area on the front end of the store. Asia Market closes early, so guests usually dine for lunch or an early dinner.

Vieng Thai
Vieng Thai is a BYOB casual dining restaurant with authentic Thai flavors and atmosphere. Vieng Thai is known locally for its unusual dishes that are more true to Thailand than the usual American variety of Thai foods served in restaurants. It is located in a strip mall in a poor area of Houston and is mostly frequented by Asians and the occasional American who finds this jewel. Menu offerings include the seafood laden po tak soup (prawn and calimari) and the gang soum goong (hot and sour shrimp curry soup). Most dishes are under $9, and the restaurant is open for lunch and dinner.
