Arizona Biltmore
The Arizona Biltmore, originally known as the "Jewel of the Desert," is part of the Waldorf Astoria Collection. The resort hotel was built in 1929; its designer, Albert Chase McArthur, studied with Frank Lloyd Wright, who served as consulting architect on the project. The property offers its guests the ultimate in elegant décor and facilities, from its extraordinary gold leaf trim to its eight swimming pools to high tea served each afternoon. In addition, guests have an opportunity to reserve choice tee times at the Arizona Biltmore Country Club's two courses, the Links (5726 yards, par 71) and the Adobe (6075 yards, par 71).

Royal Palms Resort and Spa
The Royal Palms and Spa started life in the 1920s as the winter home of a New York financier; it changed hands more than once on its path to becoming a historic resort property. In addition to the usual resort amenities (robes, pool and spa), guests have access to the hotel's Director of Shopping, who will help put together the perfect shopping expedition for any occasion. The concierge will help arrange a tee time at Troon North on the Monument course (6236 yards, par 72) or the Pinnacle course (6268 yards, par 71).

Crowne Plaza San Marcos Golf Resort
The popular Crowne Plaza San Marcos Golf Resort, first built in 1913, is a bit south of downtown Phoenix, in the city of Chandler. The folks at the San Marcos want guests to get a good night's sleep, and they have learned how to help that happen. Guests will get ear plugs and a sleep mask, and they can spray lavender around the room, an aromatherapy approach to relaxation. The San Marcos Golf Course (6626 yards, par 72) has a history of its own--it was the first in Arizona to offer green grass. The concierge will help guests get a tee time.
