New Kauai Hotels

New Kauai Hotels
Kauai's breeze-swept beaches, vibrant local culture and sunny golf courses, including the Kauai Lagoons Golf Club and the Kiahuna Golf Course, lure thousands of tourists every year. The island is also home to many hotels, several of which are new or renovated. Stay in a new Kauai hotel with all the latest technology and enhancements so you can experience Kauai's hospitality and have a Hawaiian vacation you won't soon forget.

St. Regis Princeville

Kauai's historical Princeville Resort, perched atop Princeville's windswept cliffs overlooking the Pacific, closed in 2008 for major renovations and re-opened as the new St. Regis Princeville in spring 2009. Its adjacent Robert Trent Jones Jr.-designed Makai Ocean Golf Course--rated one of Hawaii's best courses by Golf World magazine--was also renovated and reopened in November 2009.

All rooms and suites come with amenities like Hawaiian hardwood accents, flat-panel TVs and private balconies. Refresh yourself after a hot day of golf in the hotel's 5,000-square-foot infinity pool overlooking Hanalei Bay. A series of boutique gift shops, set within the hotel for convenient shopping, are scheduled to open in 2010.

Koa Kea Hotel & Resort

Opened in April 2009, the Koa Kea Hotel is Kauai's newest resort on its scenic south shore. It's found steps from the golden sands of Poipu Beach, and just minutes from the Poipu Bay Golf Course, a championship green that has hosted pros like Tiger Woods.

Select from 121 hotel rooms or suites, decorated in sleek and modern decor with high definition TVs, iPod-compatible stereo systems, an in-room espresso machine, and designer bath amenities from L'Occitane. Relax sore golf muscles at the hotel's Koa Kea Spa, designed to focus on Native Hawaiian healing techniques and body treatments using local ingredients like coconut oil and herbal roots.

Aloha Beach Kauai

This oceanfront hotel is found in quaint Kapaa town, just a few minutes' driving north of the Wailua Golf Course. The 216-room resort underwent a multi-million dollar renovation after an ownership change, reopening in December 2008 with new guest rooms, swimming pools and updated landscaping.

Rooms are decorated in Hawaii's historical plantation themes, featuring rattan furniture and Hawaiian quilts. If you want your own space, book one of the hotel's 26 two-bedroom cottages, set within rustling groves of Hawaiian coconut trees.
