Panama City Beach is also known simply as Panama City. It's a popular vacation destination in Florida's panhandle region. The area is famous for its sparkling white sands beaches and the emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Golf lovers will enjoy the area's many courses, and family-friendly activities also abound.

Edgewater Beach Resort

The Edgewater Beach Resort is an oceanfront resort that is a located in the heart of Panama City Beach. The sprawling 110-acre compound has a private beach, eleven pools, four whirlpools, tennis courts, shuffleboard courts, multiple eateries, and a spa.

The resort offers activities for guests of all ages, including beach volleyball, bingo, ice cream socials and limbo contests. Surf lessons are also available.

Golf lovers can choose to play at the on-site 9-hole, par-3 executive course or at the nearby Hombre Golf Club. The Hombre is a championship 27-hole course that is both scenic and challenging. Hombre, the annual host of the PGA Tour Qualifying School, was designed by Wes Burnham and has four sets of tees to accommodate various difficulty levels. Equipment rentals are available.

Majestic Beach Resort

The Majestic Beach Resort is nestled on oceanfront property. The resort offers a pool, fitness center, sauna, steam room, spa, theater, restaurant and market. The Majestic Market provides cafe-style coffee, fresh breakfast selections, gourmet sandwiches and salads.

The resort's available activities include jet skiing, para sailing and banana boat rides. Golf enthusiasts can enjoy the nearby Signal Hill Golf Course. The 18-hole course was designed by John Sherman, and it offers 5,617 yards of golf.

Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort

The Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort is a family friendly property with a Polynesian influence. As Panama City's self-proclaimed "premier family resort destination," the Holiday Inn caters to guests of all ages.

The resort has two restaurants, a fitness center and a private beach. In addition, guests can enjoy the resort's Polynesian Fire and Dance Show. The Torch Lighting Ceremony features traditional Tahitian, Hawaiian and Samoan dances.

While there is no course available on-site, resort guests can visit the Holiday Golf Club to play its course. The course includes junior tees in order to cater to the entire family. There is also a practice area with illuminated range, chipping green and putting green.
