When traveling to Minneapolis, Minnesota for business or vacation, golf enthusiasts should consider making time to play at some of the local courses like the par 71 Francis A. Gross Golf Course and the par 71 Columbia Golf Course. Other area attractions include the Bell Museum of Natural History, Como Zoo, Historic Fort Snelling and Lake Calhoun. After a long day of playing, those with an appetite can find satisfaction by eating at one of Minneapolis' area Thai restaurants.

Sen Yai Sen Lek

This Thai restaurant provides a casual cafe type of setting with a lot of space and low lighting. The restaurant is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. Appetizers include the gai satay, which includes marinated chicken skewers served with curried peanut sauce, cucumber salad and toast points and the po pai sod, which includes vegetarian spring rolls cucumber, Chinese sausage, bean sprouts, green onions and egg served with tamarind sauce. Dinner entrees include curry specials made each day, the khao pad kapi, which includes royal fried rice with dried shrimp, green beans, sweet pork, green mango, egg and shallots and the pad kee mao dish, which includes stir fried rice noodles garlic, Thai chilies, Thai basil, tomato and onion. The restaurant is within five miles of the Columbia Golf Course.

Chai's Thai Restaurant

This Thai restaurant is located on Cedar Avenue and provides a casual atmosphere with large tables available in the dining room. The restaurant allows diners to bring their own beer and also offers carry-out if they don't want to dine in. The restaurant is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. Highlights on the menu include the cashew chicken with garlic, onions, chilies and mushrooms, the panang curry with chicken or beef in a Thai red curry that includes coconut milk, fresh basil and chilies, the pad thai with Thai noodles, green onions, bean sprouts and crushed peanuts and the chili mint chicken or beef entree with chili pepper, mint leaves and garlic. The restaurant is within 10 miles of the Francis A. Gross Golf Course.

The King and I Thai

This Thai restaurant provides an casual setting that is also an intimate dining experience that includes a full bar and lounge. There is also private rooms available by reservation for special occasions. The restaurant is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. Entrees on the menu include the pineapple fried rice, spicy holy basil fried rice, gaeng puk with red coconut milk curry, assorted vegetables and fried tofu, vegetable stir-fry, chef's special curry and the tiger shrimp with classic Thai chilies, coconut cream, sweet and sour or holy basil sauce. The restaurant is within 10 miles of the Theodore Wirth Park Golf Course.
