Four Seas
Located up a long flight of red stairs in the heart of Chinatown, the Four Seas is an authentic dim sum experience, complete with Chinese women pushing dim sum carts through the restaurant during lunch. Decorated with heavy velvet curtains and carved wood chairs, the Four Seas has been open since the 1930s. Customers may select from authentic favorites like sticky rice, har gow or lotus-seed buns, or order off the menu, which includes fried rice, egg rolls and barbecued pork. Open Monday through Friday at 11 a.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 9:30 a.m.

Good Luck Dim Sum
Located in inner Richmond, in San Francisco's less touristy, more ethnic Asian neighborhood, Good Luck Dim Sum is about the food, not the service or restaurant itself. Good Luck serves authentic dim sum, though rather than get it from a cart, customers order at a counter. Steamed pork buns, shu mai and chive dumplings are house specialties. There is limited seating inside, and this is generally a take-out place.
