The Heathman Hotel Portland
The Heathman Hotel is a moderately priced historic luxury boutique hotel in downtown Portland. It is in a convenient central location for golfers who want to drive to courses in different surrounding areas of Portland. According to the hotel's Web site, there is a walking tour of Portland that leaves from the Heathman Hotel every Friday and Saturday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The hotel is near the downtown park blocks, Portland's popular Pearl District, and a lot of food vendors. Rooms in the hotel are decorated with dark wood furniture and paintings by local artists. Amenities at the hotel include wireless Internet, sound systems that can connect to MP3 players, blackout drapes, cable TV, parking, fitness center, business center, 24-hour room service, HDTV, and a selection of bed types. The Heathman Hotel also allows pets and has its own restaurant.

The Governor Hotel
The Governor Hotel, located in a historic building in downtown Portland, has been open for more than 100 years, and has a historic feel with updated furnishings and amenities. The hotel has wireless Internet, fireplaces in many of its rooms, a Starbucks coffee shop in the lobby, Jake's Grill restaurant in the hotel building, a ballroom, meeting rooms, banquet rooms, 24-hour room service, and a fitness center. This hotel is near theaters, restaurants, and a large shopping center called Pioneer Place. Its convenient central location also provides quick driving access to golf courses all around the Portland area, and it's close to both of Portland's electric rail transportation systems. One of the rail systems, the Portland Streetcar, goes to the waterfront and Northwest Portland's shopping district on NW 23rd Avenue. The other, the MAX light rail, crosses the river and goes near the Rose Garden Sports Arena, other shopping districts, and restaurants.
