Ripley's Aquarium
Located in the massive of Broadway at the Beach complex, Ripley's Aquarium mixes a little bit of everything for kids to enjoy. There are large tanks filled with fish that kids can walk through, a play area with a slide in the shape of a fish that they will enjoy, learning activities and an area where they can pet rays. Family Kingdom
This is a classic amusement park complete with a wooden roller coaster that still has that ratchet like affect when going up the first hill, the state's largest Ferris wheel, a go-kart track and a 110-foot freefall ride called Slingshot. The water park on site helps keeps everyone cool during their stay as does a log ride that sends people on a water-splash zone after a long roller coaster-like drop. The park is located on the oceanfront, which makes it an easy trip to courses, such as Beachwood, Waterway Hills and Robber's Roost.

Children's Museum of South Carolina
The Children's Museum of South Carolina is a great place to visit on a rainy day because it will keep kids busy for hours as they check out the exhibits that range from South Carolina history to boating safety to fossil digs to dentistry. The exhibits, though, are extremely kid-friendly and everything is presented in bright colors and simple direction to help children enjoy and understand.
