This is an obvious one, but building sandcastles and collecting shells are among the cheapest and best forms of entertainment for the family, though you should probably invest in sunscreen for everyone.
Warbird Park
History buffs and aviation fans will enjoy this monument to the the history of Myrtle Beach Air Force Base, located on Farrow Parkway, just west of Highway 17. You can find an A-10 Thunderbolt, an A-7 Corsair II and more in a park that has benches and a nice walking trail near Myrtle Beach International Airport.
The Franklin G. Burroughs- Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum
This one may be more for the older kids, but check out upcoming exhibits, because there may be something cool even the younger ones will like. Family Days are scheduled throughout the year, too, including activities designed specifically for kids of all ages.
Broadway at the Beach
It's primarily a shopping and dining district, but it's also fun for people watching and there are also free boat rides available. And if you can shell out a few bucks, Ripley's Aquarium is fun and teenagers may enjoy the NASCAR Speedpark, where you can drive smaller replica's of NASCAR race cars.
McLean Park Summer Concert Series
Grab a blanket or lawn chairs and a picnic meal and enjoy a variety of musical acts that will have your kids up and dancing on the lawn.
