As its name suggests, Boston's North Station sits due north of the city center, and connects the city via rail to points north via the Massachusetts Bay Transport Authority Commuter Rail. Despite its prominence as a transportation hub and home two of the regions professional sports teams (the Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics play their home games in the TD Bank Garden located directly above the station), there are few hotels located in the neighborhood proper. North Station is, however, a short walk, T ride or cab fare away from the downtown and Back Bay districts where most of the cities hotels reside.
Holiday Inn Express & Suites at Boston Garden
The Holiday Inn Express & Suites at Boston Garden on Friend Street is located directly across the street from the station. Like most locations of this major hotel chain, affordability and convenience are the prevailing characteristics. Recently renovated, the hotel offers 72 rooms and 20 suites. Since it is the only hotel in the station's direct proximity--its location is hard to beat in terms of convenience. Guests craving a more distinctly Boston experience, however, might want to look elsewhere.

Millennium Bostonian Hotel
The Millennium Bostonian Hotel is located in the heart of downtown overlooking Faneuil Hall, approximately four blocks from North Station. A recently completed $24 million renovation has made this one of the nicest places to stay in the city, and its centralized location and magnificent access to Boston sightseeing are added bonuses. The Millennium offers sports packages for both the Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics, who play at nearby TD Bank Garden, which, like North Station itself, is in walking distance. Packages include accommodations, game tickets and dinner reservations.
