Vegans looking to for breakfast items would do well to check out Black Bear Bakery. Black Bear offers the full gamut of baked goods ranging from traditional breads like sourdough and whole wheat to cookies, brownies, bagels and granola. Black Bear is employee-owned and uses local organic ingredients. A full selection of coffees and teas are also available.

African Palace

African Palace is a husband- and wife-owned West African restaurant. The menu is unique yet simple, with roughly ten entrees to choose from. The food remains true to its West African roots by featuring dishes with heavy doses of healthy, starchy tubers such as cassava, yams, bananas and plantains. The Nigerian and coastal West African dishes make ample use of liberal use of chilies and are quite spicy. Most menu items can be made vegan by simply eliminating the meat.
