Calhoun's on the River
Located directly on the Tennessee River, Calhoun's is a Knoxville favorite owned by local restaurant group Copper Cellar Restaurants. Calhoun's is known for its extensive menu, but is probably most famous for its barbecue ribs. Nearby St. Mary's Hospital also worked with Calhoun's to develop heart-healthy recipes, and there is a section of the menu devoted to healthy food choices, such as a grilled chicken sandwich with Calhoun's famous barbecue sauce. Other dishes include the house "Ale Steak," southern-fried catfish or rotisserie chicken. Also a micro-brewery, you can order your own hand-crafted brew to accompany your entree.

Volunteer Princess
Some of the finest food near Thompson-Boling Arena isn't on land--instead, it's on water. The Volunteer Princess leaves from a dock within walking distance of the arena and is a luxury yacht that offers brunch, lunch or dinner, which features a three-course gourmet meal. The yacht also features an on-site bar and has glass panels all around, which makes for a romantic atmosphere.
