At more than 4,500 feet in elevation, Banff, Alberta is best known as a skier's paradise and for Banff National Park, which covers more than 2,500 square miles. During the summer, Banff and the surrounding region of the Canadian Rockies offer plenty of golf courses. At the end of the day, Banff possesses a rockin' nightlife that draws tourists and locals alike. Nightclubs that feature dancing, live music and/or DJs are scattered across the town, but, remember, at higher altitude a drink can go to your head a little faster than at sea level.

St. James Gate Olde Irish Pub
As one of the few Irish or Scottish pubs in the Banff area, St. James Gate draws those who appreciate a finely poured Guiness and the friendly, high-spirited atmosphere typical of a good pub. Families are welcome until 10 p.m.; that's when it's time for the grown-ups to have the place to themselves. Live music on Fridays and Saturdays draws even bigger crowds, especially when local favorites The Boys of St. James Gate are in town to play modern Celtic music.

The mix of entertainment is what makes the Drake so popular. It also has a pretty impressive menu for a club, ranging from typical bar food like wings, burgers and pizza to things like Thai salad, bison lasagna and an awesome Very Berry Crumble for dessert.
