For luxury (albeit expensive; as of 2009, a night here began at around $180), consider Wood Norton Hall. The building was once the home of the Duc d'Orleans, a claimant to French throne. Converted into a hotel, Wood Norton Hall offers guests a fitness center, a bar, a lounge and a restaurant. Rooms come with Internet access. For golfers, Wood Norton Hall is located next to the Vale Golf and Country Club; hotel staff can assist guests in arranging to play at the club.
