San Diego is located on the southern edge of California and is the second largest city within the entire state. The city is 372.1 square miles and rests along the Pacific Ocean, which provides for tremendous scenery and a great atmosphere. There are several attractions throughout the entire city, including the San Diego Museum of Art, the San Diego Symphony, Sea World San Diego, San Diego Zoo, Qualcomm Stadium (home of the NFL's San Diego Chargers) and Petco Park (home of the MLB's San Diego Padres).

Mission Trails Golf Course

The Mission Trails golf course is an 18-hole, par-71 course that first opened in 1964 and is set inside of a valley and along the shores of Lake Murray. The distance from tees to cups is 5,119 yards from the front tees, 5,603 yards from the middle tees and 6,004 yards from the back tees. The course was designed by William Bell and has a course rating of 69.1 and a slope rating of 126. Bermuda grass is used around the tees as well as on the greens and fairways. The course also has a pro shop, restaurant, club house and golf pros (for lessons and advice) on the premises.

Balboa Park Municipal Golf Course

The Balboa Park Municipal golf course is an 18-hole, par-72 course that opened in 1918. It has course rating of 71.1 and a slope rating of 127. The total distance from the front tees to the holes is 5,368 yards, while it is 5,835 yards from the middle tees and 6,281 yards from the back tees. The grass on the fairways and around the tees is premium Bermuda grass, and on the greens there is Bent and Pou Annua grass. There is a driving range, putting green, chipping green, pro shop, golf pro, restaurant, cart and club rentals all on-site.

Tecolote Canyon Golf Course

The Tecolote Canyon golf course is an 18-hole, par-58 short course that first opened in 1964 and was designed by Robert Trent Jones. The total distance between the tees and holes is just 3,161 yards, and the course has a rating of 55.8 and a slope rating of 101. The fairways and around the tees have fine Bermuda grass, while the greens have Poa Annua grass. There is a chipping area, putting greens, driving range, snack bar, club house, practice bunkers and pro shop, and there is a golf pro as well as club and cart rentals on the premises.
