Two hours south of Denver and 15 minutes to the west of Colorado Springs is the small town of Manitou Springs. Sitting at the base of Pike's Peak, Manitou Springs is a historic mining town founded in 1871. With the Broadmoor Golf Club and Patty Jewitt Municipal Golf Course a short drive to the east, Manitou Springs presents an ideal place to stay for the night or to stop for a bite to eat in one of the town's many restaurants.

Mona Lisa Gourmet Cafe and Fondue‎

The Mona Lisa Gourmet Cafe and Fondue‎ is located on the north side of town among the various shops and art dealers. The restaurant offer two unique dining experiences. You can stay on the main level and make your own meal at your table with a fondue pot and raw meats, vegetables, bread and fruits dipped in either hot oil, cheese sauce or melted chocolate. You can also go down to the Wine Cellar where you sample the wines as well as enjoy the appetizer or dessert portions of a fondue dinner with both cheese and chocolate dips available.

Craftwood Inn‎

The Craftwood Inn‎, high above downtown Manitou Springs, serves Colorado cuisine in an English Tudor Mansion. The fare consists of a diverse selection of wild game and concoctions such cheddar-baked mushroom caps, smoky buffalo filet, char-grilled pheasant poblano rellenos, and maple-grilled Rocky Mountain elk steak. The ambiance is romantic with high-walled private booths and patio seating overlooking town and Pike's Peak. The restaurant is surrounded by a one and half-acre garden and has two fireplaces for cozying up on a cool night in the mountains.

Tajine Alami Moroccan Restaurant‎

The Tajine Alami Moroccan Restaurant‎ is owned and operated by native Moroccans and the food is authentic and served in four- to six-course meals Tuesday through Saturday. The restaurant has traditional Moroccan fare like lamb lentil soup, homemade honey wheat bread, bastella, which is a philo dough pastry stuffed with chicken, spiced egg, almonds and pears, and a variety of lamb entrees. The meal comes with evening entertainment in the form of belly-dancers.
