That could be more than a week-long trip to Pittstown with a different course every day. The Clinton House Restaurant & Bakery
Recently renovated in order to restore the charm this Victorian-era house once had, the Clinton House Restaurant and its adjacent bakery hold an unrivaled ambience. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Monday to Saturday and dinner only on Sunday; the bakery is open 7 days a week. Try the filet mignon with brandied cream sauce, and you will not be disappointed. Steaks here run upwards of $30 while other entrees run from $15 to $45. It is a bit pricier than other places in the area, but for a night out with great food, good spirits and a wonderful atmosphere--it is well worth it.

The Ship Inn
The Ship Inn is New Jersey's first brewpub, the first to brew beer after Prohibition. It is located a little outside of Pittstown but it is worth the short drive for the history, atmosphere, beer and food. The food reflects modern English fare, but with lighter, natural ingredients. The beef and chicken is either grass-fed or organic. Try the shepherd's pie for sure and pair it with one of the Ship Inn's unfiltered beers.
