Portland, Oregon Hawthorne District Hotels

By Nikki Jardin

Portland, Oregon Hawthorne District Hotels
Hawthorne Boulevard is named after Dr. J.C. Hawthorne, who opened Oregon's first asylum for the insane in the late 1800s. Today the Hawthorne district, located in southeast Portland, is popular among both tourists and locals for its boutique shops, cafes, ethnic dining, taverns, music venues and a second-run movie house. It's a great place to stop for food and drink after taking in a few holes at the Eastmoreland or Rose City golf courses, less than 4 miles away.

Bluebird Guest House

Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, but televisions are not. The Bluebird Guest House is located less than 3 miles from the Eastmoreland Golf Course and 1.5 miles from Mt. Tabor Park, which offers a 360-degree view of the entire city landscape.
