Greek Restaurants in Chicago, Illinois
Chicago offers year-round recreation amidst a cosmopolitan backdrop. This diversity lends itself to a large presence of Greek restaurants ideal for complementing rounds of golf during the season. City of Chicago officials claim its summer weather to be "near perfect" for the outdoors, and sportsmen flock to the area for tee time, sailing and nightlife. When the weather changes, ice skating and suburban cross-country skiing are preferred activities. Select the appropriate Greek restaurant according to your objectives.

Artopolis Bakery and Cafe

Artopolis operates within the heart of Greektown, Chicago's focal point for Greek culture at Halsted Street in the West Loop. Artopolis prides itself upon serving guests with fresh sandwiches and baked goods made from breads prepared on site. Additionally, the bakery offers traditional Greek desserts, such as baklava and loukoumades. This eatery is attached to an Agora, or gift shop, for Mediterranean wines and oils.

Artopolis' lighter fare and location are ideal for golfers and tourists commuting between Chicago Loop hotels and suburban courses, such as Cog Hill in Lemont.

Pegasus

Pegasus is the Greektown staple best identified with light socializing. Pegasus overlooks Halsted Street with classic blue and white piping, and is notable for its 160-guest veranda. The rooftop features a full bar and faces east to present panoramic views of the Chicago skyline. This setting calls for wearing smart, business casual dress for an evening of mingling.

The appetizer menu features kalamari and kalamarakia, or pan-fried squid. In terms of its main courses, Pegasus is excellent for seafood and prepares its lefkopsaro with Lake Superior white fish filet.
