Tantrum
Tantrum is a smooth lounge for hip-hop and rhythm and blues music in the South Loop. The South Loop is situated between downtown proper and Chicago's South Side. Golfers can head to Jackson Park and South Shore golf courses by day, and return to the South Loop's Tantrum by nightfall. This nightspot enforces a business casual dress code to set the tone for the evening. The cozy atmosphere caters to a 25-and-up crowd, and is ideal for relaxation. Tantrum does not charge a cover. Tantrum is close to the Roosevelt "El" stop, South Michigan hotels, Soldier Field and Chicago's Museum Complex at Lake Michigan. You may also enjoy the mix of South Loop bars and restaurants along Wabash Avenue, such as Wabash Tap and Cuatro that are en route to Tantrum.

The Shrine
The Shrine acknowledges itself as "the hottest venue in the city." The Shrine has emerged as the place to see and be seen. Acts ranging from Common, the Roots, Sean Paul, Brian McKnight and Ne-Yo have all performed at this location. In addition to regular live music events, The Shrine attracts Chicago's best DJs to move the crowd to dance. Shrine is located between Chicago's South Loop and Bronzeville neighborhoods. Chicago's McCormick Place convention center is also conveniently nearby.

Redhead Piano Bar
Redhead fronts Ontario Street with its iconic marquee and awning to attract patrons to Chicago's most famous piano bar. This venue caters to a more mature clientele, and the decor is characterized with images of 1950s movie stars. Musical entertainers play to the crowd, and the seating provides good sightlines from the piano area and rectangular bar. This establishment does sell vintage cigars on site. However, Illinois law prohibits smoking within nightclubs. Redhead does provide a seated area outside to accommodate smokers. Business casual dress is required for Redhead Piano Bar. No cover charges apply.

Excalibur
Excalibur is a fixture of Chicago's River North entertainment scene. This club is centrally located between Chicago's Theater District, Michigan Avenue shopping, Rush Street restaurants and Division Street bars. Excalibur is a multi-level dance club that fronts Dearborn Street in the form of a castle. This venue plays top-40 music, alongside various attractions within separate rooms for its diverse clientele. The complex includes comedy, shows and live bands.

Subterranean
Subterranean is tucked away in Wicker Park, well beyond Chicago's typical tourist haunts. This location bodes well for the more authentic atmosphere of locals and hipsters that gravitate toward this club. Subterranean offers an eclectic mix of house, rap, alternative and Latin music. The lounge does serve salads, appetizers and sandwiches from 6 p.m. until midnight. There is a cover charge.
